Haridwar is situated in the foot of Himalaya Mountain and is known as “The doorway of Lord Hari.” It is at the exact point where the river Ganga flows down from the mountain and meets the plains. Haridwar is a healthy tourism place because it is one of India’s most religious cities.

The river Ganga is known as heart of Haridwar. Mythology claims that the water from Ganga is so pure that it has both physical and spiritual healing powers. As such, many Hindus travel from afar only to bathe in it.

Haridwar also has many reputed learning centers for science, art and culture. A unique Gurukul school of traditional education, the temples and the ghats, number of Ashrams and Dharamshalas (inns), all give the city a unique flavor and charm.
